The Clearing Collective is a group of therapists and artists working together at the intersection of mental health and transformative experience.

they/she

I am primarily a human being; who is also a therapist. I strive for the human part of me to be my brightest guidepost. I am a naturalist and I learn as much from nature as I learn from recent studies on FMRI’s and neuroplasticity.

I graduated from Jane Addams College of Social Work (UIC) in 2012, started as a private practice therapist in 2015, and became a professor at Loyola School of Social Work in 2024. My approach is vast and varied but always body-mind centered, guided by the last decade of being in my own personal therapy and being a therapist. I picked up somatics as a yoga teacher and then moved towards more formalized trauma treatment training in somatics. I dapple in IFS and “parts work.” I am EMDR-trained and always curious about how to create enough safety in our bodies to complete neurocircuits.

Sara’s Services

Therapy

I am a therapist who sees my clients through the lens of what has happened to you and how your body and mind have found ways to cope in this world. As a queer person, I have the lived experience of navigating the systemic oppression that comes with marginalization. I strive to peel back the layers of shame that come with living in an increasingly traumatizing world, with the hope that we can all find freedom and liberation.

Therapy Pricing:

I am only in-network for BCBS PPO and Aetna PPO plans. If you have other insurance, I can work with you on how to submit claims to your out of network insurance plan. I am also available for out-of-pocket payments at $150 per session.

Supervision + Training

My ethos for supervision and teaching is that safety is paramount.  No biological being can create the neuroplasticity for learning and growing without a felt sense of safety. Let’s build a relationship centered around safety and see how much we can learn and grow!

Consultation

I am available for consultation around:

  1. Managing dual relationships in the queer community

  2. Polyamory/Alternative relationship structures

  3. Navigating power and privilege as therapists in the room and workplace

Other Services Pricing:

It is a hard time to be a new therapist or old therapist in this capitalism situation. Reach out to me and let’s figure out something that honors both of our needs.

Do we seem like a potential fit?
